Returning Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has backed new team-mate Diego Costa to be a success in the Premier League.
The Spain international joined the club in a 32million deal from Atletico Madrid, while Drogba penned a one-year deal last week.
And the Ivory Coast international has seen enough of Costa to believe he will be a hit in the English top-flight.
âIâve been watching Diego play over the last few years and the first time I saw him I really liked him as a player,â Drogba was quoted as saying by ESPNFC.
I like his character, heâs solid, he can score goals and heâs also technically gifted. He likes people to respect him and thatâs important.
The Blues have signed Felipe Luis and Cesc Fabregas along with the aforementioned duo, and Drogba is impressed by the squad manager Jose Mourinho has assembled.
âIt was very important for us to buy these players, they are all good signings,â he added.
âTo have Cesc with us, I think heâll understand itâs better to be with us than against us.â
âThey are good players and I hope they will bring their talent and experience to the team.â
