Kalas signs new three year deal

Chelsea have today announced Czech Republic international Tomas Kalas has signed a new three-year contract with Chelsea despite currently being on loan at Middlesbrough.

Kalas signed for Chelsea in January 2011 from his home town club Sigma Olomouc. Since then he has made his debut for Chelsea coming on in the second half in a 2-0 League Cup win against Arsenal at the Emirates. Kalas later made his full debut in April 2014 in another away game, in our unforgettable 2-0 win against Liverpool at Anfield. Kalas put in a very good performance in the centre of the defence with Branislav Ivanovic that game.

Since arriving at Chelsea Kalas has been loaned out to Vitesse Arnhem and then Middlesbrough for the end of last season.

This summer Kalas featured in the Czech Republic Under-21 squad for the European Championships, and he will now be back with Middlesbrough for this upcoming season after impressing them towards the end of last season.
