Muntari: Jose is out of this world

Players signed by Jose Mourinho or have had the opportunity to work under the Portuguese, has never lost the chance to eulogise the Chelsea boss. The latest to have pleasant words about the former Real Madrid manager is his former recruit at Inter Milan, Sulley Ali Muntari.

The former Udinese and Portsmouth midfielder, whose muscular and hard tackle style was synonymous with Mourinho’s treble winning spell at San Siro, can sum up his genius in a phrase: “He is out of this world”. You can understand why he has won so many laurels in his career.

“Mourinho is amazing, he is out of this world, he makes players feel they are the best even if you know you are not a top player,” the Ghanaian who won the Champions League with Chelsea manager in 2010 told Accra-based radio station, Starr FM.

He is brilliant and knows his job. He is normal human being, a normal human being with confidence, self belief and goes for what ever he wants if he thinks he can get it, he goes for it.

The Portuguese, he says, has the rare knack of being able to defend and give the right motivation for each player. “He protects his players and makes them feel comfortable around him, and give you the freedom to do whatever you want. The freedom and protection he gives to his players makes you want to work for him; he knows how to make you a top player.

He tells his players what he feels is right… it is not to criticise but to make you work hard to realise your potential, he wants the best for his players.

Mourinho is hard working and makes sure everyone around him works hard, he is tough but tough in a good way. If you a player, he doesn’t what you have done before, you play on merit… so if you are not on form, you have to work hard to play and perform.

He is not fake, Mourinho is real… if you are a hard worker, he is easy to work with and everyone around him knows that. You only play when he trust you, if you don’t it means that he doesn’t trust and will openly tell you. He told me ‘Sulley, you are not playing because Idon’t trust you, if you want to play, give me a reason to trust you’ an when I worked twice my efforts, I started playing again.

Muntari has been linked with a move to Al Ittihad for a reported fee of €6.2 million by the Ghanain media.
