Recently Jeremie Boga moved on loan to French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes.
A local news source called Rennes Maville are reporting that Chelsea and Rennes negotiated a clause in Boga’s loan deal that states Rennes have the opportunity to sign the youngster from Chelsea but they will have to pay a whopping €40m.
This fee is certainly very high for a youngster who is unproven at the top level and also for a mid-table French side. Rennes are owned by a multi-billionaire, François Pinault, but in the past he hasn’t been renown for spending big on his side.
However reports claim that the buy out clause will not be met, not even if Boga has a really good season at the French side.
Chelsea obviously rate the Frenchman highly and it’s expected that he will have a successful loan in Ligue 1. He may even feature for chelsea regularly in the future.
