Kenedy: I worked hard to be part at Chelsea

Chelsea summer signing Kenedy has revealed how he managed not be part of the Chelsea contingent sent on loan.

The Brazilian forward completed his move to Chelsea from Fluminense for a reported fee of €8 million in last month.

And impressed on his debut during the pre-season against Barcelona. The 19-year-old was equally at his best in his premier debut against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge before the internationap break.

In an interview with Globoesporte, he outlined, how he managed to persuade José Mourinho to keep him at the club rather sent him out on loan.

I did my part, which was working hard in the pre-season. I showed how good I was. I think it all comes from you. If you want something, you have to go after it. That’s it. When I got the opportunity, I took advantage and got in the squad.

Mourinho is the best coach in the world. I have a lot to learn from him. I am very happy to know that he liked me. It helps me day-to-day and helps me in training every day that he supports me.

(When he called me) in my mind he was just playing. Being in a big club like Chelsea is a childhood dream, playing with great players like Ramires, Oscar, Diego Costa, Willian… They received me very well.

Chelsea will travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton on Saturday.
