Chelsea vs Norwich City: Previous Encounters

After an international break that seemed to last months, the Blues are back – and uninterrupted by Hodgson until March!

Jose Mourinho’s side face Norwich City at Stamford Bridge in one of Saturday’s 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League.

The Blues will be looking to bounce back (again) after an improved performance still saw them drop three points on Bonfire weekend, but how difficult have the Canaries made it for Chelsea in the past?

Norwich did the double over Chelsea in the Premier League’s first ever season, and it took the Blues five attempts to win at Carrow Road after that, eventually running out 3-1 winners in Mourinho’s first season in charge, thanks to goals from Joe Cole, Mateja Kezman and Ricardo Carvalho.

Since that victory, Norwich are yet to beat Chelsea (P7, W0, D2, L5), and this side of the Millennium the Blues have netted at least three goals in every home game against the Canaries excluding last season’s stalemate – a good omen for Saturday’s fixture.

Chelsea have won nine of the 16 league fixtures played between the two teams since the Premier League began, drawing four and losing three.

This, perhaps, is the fondest memory Chelsea fans will have of this fixture:
