The youth to get their chance under Hiddink

Following the sacking of Jose Mourinho, the club acquired former Dutch national team manager: Guus Hiddink, for the second time as interim manager, but will the Dutch manager do something Mourinho was unable to do? Potentially.

Hiddink intends to give an increased role to England u21 midfielder, Ruben Loftus-Cheek as they club look to tie him down on a long term contract as the box to box midfielder had been given limited game time under Mourinho and has contemplated to ask the club for a loan move out in January.

Charly Musonda is another player who has asked a move out of Stamford Bridge as the talented Belgian is yet to make his competitive debut for the club. Musonda’s agent is his own father who has urged his son to leave the club to further his career.

It is also understood that full back, Ola Aina, is looking to depart the club with less than 12 months on his contract due to the lack of opportunities under Mourinho. The English international has been impressing at youth level and has even manager to get a call up to the England u21 squad. A number of Premier League clubs are interested in the full back.

Hiddink has been tasked to emulate the success of Tottenham Manager: Mauricio Potchetino when promoting successful young players. Tottenham are currently sitting 4th in the table at Christmas thanks to free scoring Harry Kane, box to box Dele Alli and their rock in midfield with them all being given senior national team call ups and Chelsea want to have similar success.
