Chelsea preparing to recall Christensen

It’s fair to say it has been a troublesome season for Chelsea, conceding as 39 goals in 29 Premier league games, but are things about to change as today The Mirror are reporting that Chelsea are planning to recall Andreas Christensen, a talented centre back from his two year loan out in Germany.

Andreas Christensen has been a revaluation at Borussia Mochengladbach this season, earning many plaudits in the process. There have been many reports linking the 19 year old with a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge, with Mochengladbach, Barcelona and Juventus all enquiring about the Dane.

He has made 31 appearances for the side currently sitting fourth in the Bundesliga table, including five in the Champions league group stage; his performances have convinced the Chelsea staff that he is capable to be a part of the first team plans next season.

Chelsea plan to open talks with the German side about bring the talented defender back a year early.

With the imminent departure of John Terry, the club will need to look for potential replacements but with Andreas Christensen having the ability to become a world class defender he should be given the chance to prove himself in England and with Chelsea not being in any European competition next season, it would be the ideal opportunity to develop his talents.
