Chelsea’s Latest Transfer Round-up

The season is getting closer and closer, and Chelsea are struggling to find the right fits for the still a bit shaky looking team.

Despite showing determination to bring in new players at the start of the summer, Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante are so far the only additions to Antonio Conte’s Chelsea squad.

However, Chelsea are supposedly still (at least) trying to splash the cash for new signings, as the time is slowly running out on the clock.

Here though are the latest of our transfer rumours:

Benfica defender Lindelof uninterested to move away this summer

Lindelof

Chelsea target Victor Lindelof has claimed to be uninterested of moving away from Portuguese side Benfica SL this summer, as he loves his life in the country despite making only 16 league appearances for the side since joining in 2011.

According to reports in Portugal, Chelsea were ready to trigger the Swedish international’s £25m buy-out clause, but considering the 22-year-old wants to stay, it’s unlikely that The Blues will pursuit a move for the center-back.

Koulibaly to make up his mind this week

Optimized-Koulibaly3

Chelsea have been hoping to find the right deal for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly for whole summer, but due to the Italians’ stubborn negotiating manners, it’s only got more difficult for the Frenchman to finally exit the club.

Arsenal have also been emerged as big favourites to land the unsettled 25-year-old, but Chelsea are currently on hold with the highest bid.

Koulibaly’s agent Bruno Satin told Goal that there will soon be something official announced in the case of the versatile defender.

We will be able to announce something in the next few days, two or three days.

The Blues are in big need for defenders, as should Matt Miazga leave out on loan, Chelsea will only have five fit defenders to choose from when the season kicks off on Monday, as Kurt Zouma is still out due to his knee injury.

Chelsea make their first move for Icardi

Icardi2

After Chelsea were demanded to pay outrageous fees to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton, Conte has put the Belgian aside and move on to make his first contact for Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi, Calcio Mercato reports.

The Argentinian’s agent has hinted at a possible departure of the star man, and in addition to Chelsea, Arsenal and Napoli have also shown major interest for the 23-year-old.

Napoli are desperate to sign a replacement for Gonzalo Higuain, and have already offered £52m or £34m and Manolo Gabbiadini in exchange for Icardi.

Chelsea in advanced talks to sign Thiago Maia

Maia

Brazilian side Santos are asking £15m for the young defensive midfielder Thiago Maia, which Chelsea are reportedly ready to pay to sign the highly praised wonder-kid.

Paris Saint-Germain have also shown interest for the player currently featuring in Brazil’s U23 side in the Olympics, but Chelsea have made it first to the latter stages of the transfer.

According to Evening Standard Santos president Modesto Roma is in London for talks on Maia’s transfer, as there is Chelsea are waiting to launch an official bid after the Games.

That was all for today’s transfer news, but don’t go too far as we’re closing on the end of the transfer window, and Chelsea are (hopefully) going to do their everything to bring in a few new faces this summer.
