Chelsea target Inter midfielder as Conte prepares for January reshuffle

Geoffrey Kondogbia’s agent has refused to rule out the possibility of the midfielder leaving Inter Milan in January as Chelsea circle, report the Daily Star.

The Daily Star report Kondogbia’s agent Jonathan Maarek in saying “It’s not the right time to talk about the transfer market” when asked about his client’s future at Inter.

The tabloid cite the Mirror in claiming Chelsea’s interest in the Frenchman. They believe that Antonio Conte will move for Kondogbia after he has cashed in on both Cesc Fabregas and John Obi Mikel.

The 23-year-old has featured in five Serie A games for Inter so far this campaign, winning just one of them. His agent’s reluctance to rule out a move has reportedly given Chelsea hope ahead of the January window.

The midfield pair of N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic have scarcely put a foot wrong in recent games, but if both of Fabregas and Mikel do depart, Conte’s options in the middle of the park are looking thin.
