(Image): Mikel sends his goodbye to Chelsea fans ahead of Stamford Bridge exit

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is set to complete a January move to Chinese Super League side Tianjin TEDA FC after spending memorable 10,5 years in the West London club’s line-ups.

The 29-year-old has won every major trophy with Chelsea since joining the club in the age of 19, and will be remembered as one of the greatest long-serving players the club has ever had. He scored a total of six goals from the defensive midfielder’s position, helping the Blues to win four FA Cup trophies, two League Cups, two Premier League titles and both European Cups – The Champions League in 2012 and the Europa League in 2013.

Last season he was slightly disappearing from the every-week line-up under the management of Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink, but hit his rock bottom this season as he wasn’t able to make a single appearance under Antonio Conte since the Italian’s arrival this summer.

However, a new era in the Nigeria international’s career awaits, and we want to wish him and his family all the best with the upcoming challenges both on and off the pitch!
