One of Chelsea’s quieter loans this season has been Jay DaSilva, who has rejoined Charlton Athletic on loan.
The defender broke into the Addicks team at the tail end of last season, and according to his recent interview with the Chelsea official website, he was keen to return.
This season he’s established himself as a regular and according to his own words is learning quickly from his fellow pros.
“I am learning a lot off my team-mates. There are a good bunch of lads in the dressing room. As soon as I came in they were very welcoming.” – Jay DaSilva, Chelseafc.com
The youngster also toke about his success captaining the England U19s, who won the Euros this summer in their age bracket.
“It is something I will remember for the rest of my life.”
It’s often hard to keep track of Chelsea’s lesser know loan player, and DaSilva definitely falls into the category of players who have a huge amount of potential but are less talked about as they play in less glamorous leagues or positions.
DaSilva is staying under the radar for now, but his great performances will put him in line for a Championship move next season, and from there he a move to a top European league could see him complete his development into a really top player.
