Chelsea have just released their starting lineup for the Liverpool game coming up in an hour, and there’s a strange omission.
It didn’t look like Alvaro Morata was going to start, but we certainly would have expected him to be on the bench at least. It could be an injury issue, or it could be connected to his recent media comments, but either way it remains a mystery for now.
Team to face Liverpool: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Cahill (c), Rudiger; Moses, Kante, Bakayoko, Fabregas, Alonso; Hazard, Giroud.
Subs: Caballero, Christensen, Zappacosta, Emerson, Barkley, Pedro, Willian #CHELIV pic.twitter.com/VWuon4wkAk

UPDATE:
Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard is reporting that Morata picked up an injury in training yesterday, which had gone unreported till now.
It certainly leaves Chelsea short for options up front, but it’s better news than if he’d fallen out with Conte.
Let’s hope he’s fit and firing soon enough. Having one fit striker in Olivier Giroud is not the position a top club should be in, even if the Frenchman has been playing well in recent games.
Apparently #Morata picked up an injury in training yesterday #cfc
