Chelsea lost two valuable points against Huddersfield on Wednesday night, when they desperately needed all three points from the game to boost their chances of making the top four this season.
one of the biggest criticism after the game was Antonio Conte’s decision to rest his quality players for the game, when it was as important as any other this season.
Bizarrely, six players from the team that beat Liverpool last Sunday were rested for the game on Wednesday and that decision by Conte and his technical team backfired.
For medical reasons, Thibaut Courtois was replaced by Willy Caballero, but Andreas Christensen who has not had the best of performances in the last few months also replaced Gary Cahill in the middle of the central defense.
Davide Zappacosta stepped in on the right side of defense for Victor Moses while Tiemoue Bakayoko, Eden Hazard and Olivier Giroud were all dropped for Willian, Pedro and Alvaro Morata.
The latter three especially caused the furor among Chelsea fans on social media and here are a few of their assertions of the tactical decisions.

Whether you're a Conte fanboy or not, if you actually want him to be our manager next season then you don't want this club to succeed. Simple.

Well played Huddersfield, great club, great fans.
But Conte should apologise to all Chelsea fans for that inexplicably inept team selection.

This is all on Antonio Conte. He can piss off with that idiotic starting line-up.

And now beating Liverpool is as pointless as not sacking Conte in October.

No idea why Hazard and Giroud – our most in-form players upfront lately – didn't start such a crucial game. Absolutely useless rotation from Conte.

Antonio Conte was resting his key players for next season's champions league

Palpable discord in 3…2…1.
Conte actually benched Hazard.
