Alex Sandro has to be one of Chelsea’s most long term targets. The Brazilian has been linked with the Blues for almost two seasons now, but no move has ever taken place.
Chelsea ended up failing in their attempts to secure him last summer, leaving us with just Kenedy as an alternative to Marcos Alonso down the left.
The signing of Emerson Palmieri, who has been promising in his limited minutes so far, was almost an admission of defeat in our attempts to sign Sandro.
But there’s more recent news that will reduce our chances even further: the Manchester Evening News today reported that Manchester United are looking to finally end their problems at left back by going all out for Sandro.
After so many months of struggle trying to get Juve to agree to a reasonable price, they’re welcome to him. He’s lost his place at times this season, and us not spending big on him last summer looks like a smart move already.
