Chelsea have moved a step closer to appointing Maurizio Sarri after Carlo Ancelotti agreed a deal with Napoli.
That’s according to a tweet from Italian football journalist Ivan Zazzarroni, who is claiming that former Chelsea boss Ancelotti has put pen to paper, meaning Sarri can now be sacked.
The tweet, which you can see here, means “Ancelotti has signed”.

Nothing has been confirmed officially yet, but it seems to make sense that Carlo would only go to Napoli if Sarri was on his way out. There’s no reason for the Campanian club to be looking for a new boss unless they’re expecting to lose their extremely successful incumbent.
It’s going to be a huge risk for Chelsea no doubt, appointing a manager who has had amazing success but has limited experience at the top level.
Whatever happens, it will be a wild ride. It seems that it always is at Chelsea…
