Chelsea’s end of season awards gala went on smoothly and many might feel the awards winners thoroughly deserve every bit of praise that has come their way for their brilliance this season.
But of course some of the players will feel left out in a season where their goals, dribbles and tackles mattered and should have earned them some plaudits. One might feel Eden Hazard will be right in front of the line when those players are asked to join a queue.
But I will personally join the queue for Callum Hudson-Odoi. The player has been magical at the youth level for Chelsea and deserved that his name was engraved on one of those shiny prizes dished out last night.
Hudson-Odoi was one of the main fixtures as Chelsea’s youth won so many titles this season. His numbers speak for themselves.

After making two senior appearances in the first team in the Premier League and a further two in the FA Cup, Hudson-Odoi had announced himself to the Chelsea fraternity as one to keep an eye for, and he has been delivering.
The attacking midfielder could have won himself one of the Academy Player of the Year or the Young Player of the Year award, collected by Reece James and Andreas Christensen respectively.
A breakthrough season for Andreas Christensen, who wins Young Player of the Year!! 💪 #CFCAwards18 pic.twitter.com/d7i3gzahnt

Regardless, the 17-year old is one of the very best at Chelsea at the moment and has great years ahead of him. Keep your head high Callum.
