Nabil Fekir speaks on Liverpool move and suddenly opens up potential move to Chelsea

Chelsea are in among other clubs in pole position to sign Liverpool midfield target Nabil Fekir after the France international made comments on the links to Liverpool, insisting he will ‘make time to think’ after the World Cup.

The 24-year old has enjoyed a breakthrough season, catching the eye of most top scouts across Europe after his impressive displays against opposition in the French Ligue 1.

He has been Lyon’s live wire this season, playing without the pressure that usually accompanies playing for one of France’s top clubs.

Liverpool were thought to be close to signing the advanced play maker with the Metro reporting a deal was in place, but following his response to the links that tie his future with to the Reds in England, Fekir has refused to commit to those reports. Rather, he tells Telefoot via Football London, his options are still open and he could end up elsewhere, boosting Chelsea’s chances of stealing the chase on him this summer.

“I’m not close to a move to the Reds (Liverpool). There are discussions with several clubs but I will take time to think.”
