Chelsea fans far and wide have been reaching out ways of coming to terms with just how disappointed they are by this season, let alone these last two games.
That includes the journalists who regularly cover the Blues, like Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard.
Amid news of the goal from Anfield, worth pointing out that #cfc paid more for Ross Barkley than they received for Mo Salah. #NEWCHE

As you can see above, he pointed out this simply ridiculous stat.
Chelsea paid more for Ross Barkley, with 6 months left on his deal, than they received for Mo Salah when they sold him.
It’s a particularly pertinent comparison on a weekend which saw Ross Barkley get only his second start for the Blues, a pretty unsuccessful one, on the same day that Mo Salah broke the record for goals in a 38 game Premier League season.
There are mitigating circumstances, and four years is a long time considering how transfer fees inflate.
But when you look at from today, it’s hard to not feel like they should have seen this coming.
