Close to the summer transfer window, many stories will emerge of players moving from one club to another. Some may stem from genuine sources but others will crop up because of a feud between player and manager.
In Eric Bailly’s case, the story has come about because he missed Manchester United award dinner on Tuesday due to an illness, as per the Sun. The player was absent from the club’s end of season awards, and suddenly Chelsea and Arsenal are being reported as suitors for his signature. It’s as simple as that.
In truth the Ivory Coast international has been absent from the team’s games recently through injury, but amid talk of Jose Mourinho growing frustrated with his form. ESPN reports, Chelsea and Arsenal are monitoring Bailly’s situation at the club and will move for him in the summer if Mourinho continues to relegate him to the bench.
Although that sounds a very ambitious target for the Premier League rivals, crazier deals have taken place, so don’t rule anything out.
