Chelsea have been linked with plenty of goalkeepers in this window, with Thibaut Courtois apparently set to leave the club for Real Madrid.
The latest of these was Jordan Pickford of Everton, with several publications hinting that the Blues might be ready to try and persuade the stopper to leave the club he joined last summer to come and play in West London.
The latest twist in that tale comes today, when various papers reported that Everton are trying to get Pickford to sign a massive new contract.

That would make sense, and Everton have been spending serious money in recent windows. They look exactly like the kind of team who will hand out stupidly large contracts to their top men to keep teams like Chelsea’s hands off them.
If they get him to put pen to paper they will be in an extremely strong position, but even if they don’t, having signed him just 12 months ago means that it will be extremely hard to prise him away.
