Maurizio Sarri can’t deny that starting striker could leave

Maurizio Sarri has been speaking after Chelsea’s penalty win over Inter Milan, and his comments on Alvaro Morata were very revealing.

The forward started and played well as the Blues drew 1-1, scoring a disallowed header then soon after blasting a shot at the Inter keeper that was spilled to Pedro for Chelsea’s only goal of the game.

Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard was at the manager’s press conference after the game, and he recorded some interesting comments from the coach about Morata, as you can see in the Tweet embedded below:

There’s not much that he can really say in this situation – it’s an open secret that Morata is aligned with Eden Hazard, Willian and Thibaut Courtois in wanting to leave the club, and there’s no much the manager can do about it.

He just has to hope that those above him are smart enough to reject any offers, or at the very least ensure that the players who want to leave are replaced adequately.
