Latest update on Pedro’s race to be fitness for crunch Sunday game against West Ham

With pretty much the last action of last night’s game, Pedro burst through on goal and was flattened by the PAOK goalkeeper. He was taken off with the physios supporting his arm.

Given his form, there’s been real concern about how severe his injury is. Maurizio Sarri relieved a lot of people with his take after the game however:

There has been no official update on that yet, but Pedro’s message posted on Twitter last night also added some comfort to Chelsea fans fretting about how bad it is:

In all honesty, while the Spaniard is in great form, we at least have Willian to come in to replace him. Of all our first team players, that right wing slot has the most equal balance between it’s incumbent and the second choice – so close is the battle between them that both have had the upper hand at various points over the last few seasons.

So even without Pedro, we should be able to survive against West Ham.
