3 Negatives from Chelsea’s win over Fulham

Chelsea beat Fulham 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, leading to a positive atmosphere around the club. But it wasn’t all good, and we picked out three of the issues here:

– Loose Luiz

The selection of David Luiz after his horror-show last week was a little controversial, and while he didn’t make any major defensive gaffes, he still was very sloppy at times, especially in possession. The one lovely chipped ball he played over the top did not make up for the simple ones that he messed up.

– CHO-where to be found

It was wishful thinking to imagine that Callum Hudson-Odoi might get on the pitch after his first Chelsea goal in the week, but a place on the bench might have been a nice reward, especially with a few players out injured.

– Morata mare

Alvaro got on the score-sheet with a late goal against PAOK, but against Fulham his contribution was summed up with his first touch to the game (accidentally knocking the ball out of play), followed by his shanked effort over the bar. Olivier Giroud can expect to be starting again next week.
