Cesc Fabregas set for very risky Monaco move “within days”

Cesc Fabregas is reportedly on the verge of completing a move from Chelsea to Monaco. L’Equipe report that he could move within days.

The midfielder has been Maurizio Sarri’s chief backup to Jorginho this season, and has played regularly as a substitute and a rotation option.

But it seems he wants to return to a starting role, and will make a transfer happen to ensure that.

It’s a risky decision to head to Monaco, for sure. Thierry Henry hasn’t been able to turn their fortunes around, and they’re still deep in a relegation mire at the wrong end of Ligue 1. Fabregas’ languid style isn’t exactly what a team struggling to scratch around for points needs.

He’s also just one injury away from the Chelsea first team, as nobody is as able to fill in for Jorginho like he can.

On the other hand, he could pitch up in the South of France, help keep them in the top flight, and become an important player again.
