Why Manchester United are favourites against Chelsea despite dreadful run

Looking at the odds for today’s game, one notices that Chelsea are the outsiders – slightly. They are 2.75, while Manchester United are 2.62, meaning that in a very tight contest, the bookies favour the Red Devils.

A draw is slightly less likely, at 3.50.

Why are United favourites, despite being on a horror run since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed? The only explanation is Chelsea’s even worse record against the top 6 this season; combined with our equally shocking recent away record.

Those have been the two factors that have really crashed our season under Maurizio Sarri after a bright start. The Blues have failed to sore in an amazing 5 of their last 7 away games, and clearly the guys with the spreadsheets think that’s a possibility today too.

In reality, a draw is a good result for us, but we can’t go into the game thinking like that. This is a huge chance to leap ahead of United in the Champions League race, and the perfect chance to change our fortunes on the road against the top clubs.
