Maurizio Sarri has revealed that Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi will miss at least three months of action, having suffered a ruptured achilles.
Hudson-Odoi hobbled off during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Burnley on Monday night. It was a freak, non-contact incident which saw his time on the field come to an end.
CHO was swiftly diagnoses with a suspected ruptured achilles, as he revealed on his Twitter account soon after the game ended.
And he subsequently went under the knife…
This is a sickening sight for Chelsea fans, who had campaigned for the entire season to see Sarri recognise Hudson-Odoi’s value and give him the game-time he deserves.
He’d just began to put a run of games together and looked as though he could be crucial in the end of season run-in. However, the injury stopped him in his tracks.
A ruptured achilles is a serious injury, one which may well rule Hudson-Odoi out of the start of the 2019/20 campaign.
