Chelsea fail to shift £40m midfielder despite good loan

After a bad start, Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan took a turn for the better midway through the season at AC Milan.

The France international had had a horror debut season at Chelsea, so bad that he was loaned out straight away last summer.

He continued his rocky start in Italy, but once he found his feet got better and better.

Sadly, after such a promising midseason period, he ended up being involved with some bad vibes involving celebrating against Lazio, and had a little dispute with Gennaro Gattuso, his manager.

So in the end he will return to Chelsea, according to the Sun, with Milan not taking up the option to buy him full time. That’s a real shame for all parties involved – it looked like this could be his moment to get his career back on track.

Now he will return to square one at Chelsea, with another loan likely on the cards. Hopefully he can make this one stick.
