It was yesterday confirmed Eden Hazard would be joining Real Madrid, confirming what Chelsea fans had suspected for a long time.
The Belgian still signed off in style however, with a series of Instagram posts that went back through his time in England and really highlighted his favourite moments as a Chelsea player.
It’s moments like this that remind us why he’s such a class act, and why he’s been able to leave the club without too much of a fuss.
He says “I hope you understand”, when it came to joining the club that has been his dream since boyhood, and there’s no doubt that the loyal 7 years of service he gave us, plus classy touches like this, are exactly why he’s getting the benefit of the doubt when other players wouldn’t.
In reality it would have been easy to go on strike like his mate Courtois last summer. Instead Eden stayed, and did his duty. That’s why he leaves with the respect of every Chelsea fan.
