Mason Mount made his first England start tonight, but struggled to get into the game in the number 10 role of a struggling England team that laboured against the Czech Republic.
As many pointed out, he wasn’t done any favours by Gareth Southgate, who set up his team in a way which didn’t really suit Mount’s style.
Fans on social media, especially those of other teams, enjoyed the chance to jump on his back after a quiet game. He had in fact created the goal with a clever pass around the corner to Harry Kane in the build up to the penalty.
