Chelsea have been linked with a move for Emanuel Vignato, a top prospect in Italy currently turning the heads of Europe’s top clubs.
The report seemed to originate with Nicola Schira, who pours out an impressive amount of gossip, with a decent hit rate. Italy seems to be the leakiest country (well, apart from Spain maybe) when it comes to transfers, so given it’s an Italian player based in Italy, we’re going to give some credence to it.
It has since been spread widely among the transfer rumours sites, such as SportsMole.
Vignato is a young attacking midfielder who has been slowly forcing his way into the Chievo setup over the last two seasons. Things have really picked up for him in the last couple of months, and scouts are beginning to gather at his games. An Italy U18 international too, his stature is only likely to rise as he accumulates caps.
He’s made 3 starts and 4 sub appearances in Serie B this season, and already looks ready for a step up.
