Chelsea fans set for more worry as N’Golo Kante called up to France squad

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been called up for France in the international break next week, despite only just having returned from a niggling injury.

Frank Lampard apparently requested that Kante not be selected, and France coach Didier Deschamps had a cheeky pop back at Lampard, asking him to play Olivier Giroud more in return, as these quotes on Football.London record.

It’s a fair cop really. We’d clearly rather Kante didn’t play, but he was allowed to miss the last break and if he’s fit to play last night, it’s probably fair to say he will be ready next weekend.

Let’s just hope he takes it easy, and maybe if France take a large lead in either game his coach tries out one of the plethora of talented youngsters at his disposal instead.

Whatever happens, Chelsea fans will be biting their nails now not just only through this weekend’s game, but through the entire international fortnight.
