Chelsea beat Ajax 1-0 last night; putting in a truly impressive performance against the Dutch side, especially in the second half.
It was an impressive professional performance to follow on from what we saw in Lille in our last group game, and having won both those games in Europe on the trot we triggered this interesting factoid.

That’s 6 years since we won twice in a row away from home in the CL, at that point managed by Jose Mourinho with Frank Lampard still in the team.
It seems long ago now, and it just goes to show how hard a feat it actually is. These teams were no mugs either, and we’re succeeded in a really tough group. Now we have the chance to make it 3 with a home win against the same opposition, and from there…. who knows.
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea are well ahead of schedule, and we couldn’t be more excited.
