Chelsea top the charts of most overturned against VAR incidents so far

The Video Assistant Referee is in it’s first season of use in the Premier League and whilst it has its supporters, many dislike it.

One thing that cannot be doubted though, is the teething problems that it’s naturally incurring.

Some teams have been on the right end of the decisions, others have been on the wrong end.

Chelsea, have been on the wrong end of overturned VAR decisions 3 times so far this season, which is the most amount that any club have received, whilst Liverpool have not had any overturned decisions against them at all.

Chelsea’s overturns according to ESPN are as follows..

Norwich (A; Aug. 24) – Chelsea goal for Kurt Zouma disallowed for a foul on the goalkeeper by Olivier Giroud, 77th minute – AGAINST

Liverpool (H; Sept. 22) – Goal ruled out after Mason Mount was offside in the build-up to Cesar Azpilicueta’s goal, 27th minute – AGAINST

Burnley (A; Oct. 26) – Penalty overturned for diving by Callum Hudson-Odoi, 76th minute – AGAINST.

Whether these were correct or not, it’s about time we started getting some overturns IN our favour!
