Chelsea wonderkid reveals his feelings before his big debut

Billy Gilmour is having a very fun season.

After impressing for two years in the youth team, it was expected he might make a loan move this summer to start playing senior football. When that didn’t happen, it should have been everyone’s first clue that he was going to get minutes for the Chelsea first team.

Those first minutes came against Grimsby in the Carabao Cup, and the young Scot has been speaking in quotes carried on Football.London about how he felt once he knew he was going to get a start in the game.

“When I got told I was too excited but I settled down and got a good sleep before the game. I was buzzing. Just walking around with a big smile on my face. I don’t really get nervous to be honest. I suppose I get good nerves because I am smiling,” the 18 year old reported.

What a chilled out guy. He never looked nervous, that’s for sure, he played really well and looked totally at home despite his youth. Hopefully the next round of the cup will see more minutes for Billy.
