Eden Hazard revealed this hated former Chelsea player persuaded him to join Madrid

In today’s edition of “news we already knew”, Eden Hazard has admitted to the Daily Mail that he knew he wanted to leave Chelsea two years ago, before finally getting his wish this summer.

As early as the World Cup in 2018 he had been thinking about it, and his mate and Belgium teammate Thibaut Courtois leaving Chelsea for the Spanish capital not long after won’t have helped.

“Courtois is someone I know well and trust,” Hazard said in quotes picked up from Real Madrid TV.

“He always told me it  Real Madrid] was the best club.”

Chelsea fans won’t be too happy to have their suspicions confirmed that Courtois the snake was tempting Eden behind the scenes. But equally, they won’t be too annoyed either. We knew Hazard was going to go either way, in the end, and now we’ve entered a glorious new era without him.

Courtois left after refusing to train, foring his move. Eden, on the other hand, waited a whole year. That’s the difference between them, and between the reputation they will keep at their former club.
