“I feel the best I ever have” – This Chelsea star pumped up despite disappointing season

Christian Pulisic has not had the easiest start to life in the Premier League.

He came back from his summer holidays early, cancelled some of his international duty with the US during the September break, all to help him break into the Chelsea team. It hasn’t worked.

After a spurt of starts in August, Pulisic has fallen further from favour with the return of Callum Hudson-Odoi to fitness. But the former Dortmund star isn’t letting it get him down.

We Ain’t Got No History, an American blog which presumably pays out for the Washington Post subscription that allows them to peer beyond the paywall to pick up the quotes, has the following words from the 21 year old:

“I’m here now to be focused with the U.S. national team, so that’s really all that’s on my mind right now.”

“I feel the best I ever have. I feel very confident in my game. I’m not going to let any of that affect me. I feel very strong, and I’m really looking forward to this game Friday.”

It’s great to hear him speak in such a positive way. Hopefully these US games – where he is the star and the key player – will help keep his fitness and confidence up. Despite a bad start to his time here, we’re going to need him, and when we do he’s got to be ready.
