The Fikayo Tomori performance pocketing Marcus Rashford that launched his international career

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori is getting set to potentially gain his first senior England appearance this week after being called up to the squad for the first time.

But as well as being eligible to play for the three lions, he could also turn out for Nigeria and Canada.

It was actually in the red of the country where he was born that he launched his international career three years ago, as revisited by The Sun.

Tomori was playing for Canada under-20s against England under-20s and was tasked to mark England’s hottest young striker Marcus Rashford.

The Blues defender put in a great performance marking Rashford out of the match and earned himself a man of the match award.

Since then Tomori has gone from strength to strength and is now a first team regular under Frank Lampard in the Premier League.

Now the two domestic rivals are training together in the England camp and will hope to be team mates for the long term at international level.
