Callum Hudson-Odoi was left on the bench in midweek in our game in Lille, after also coming on as a sub at the weekend when we beat Brighton.
The winger is clearly fit enough to start games now, as he did against Grimsby in the previous midweek, and it’s just a case of Frank Lampard choosing when to throw him into action.
Now the rest of the first team have racked up a few games in a row, is when Lampard is likely to make a few alterations, especially in the attacking areas.
He will be loathe to drop his favourite Mason Mount, or Willian who has effectively won the last two games for Chelsea, but with such talent on the bench, it would be mad to run the same XI players into the ground.
We’ll learn a lot more about Frank Lampard’s thinking very soon, but we reckon there’s a good chance he throws his young tyro into action from the start at Southampton.
