Frank Lampard tells Christian Pulisic he is fully backing him

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic was the Blues star man in their 4-2 win over Burnley at the weekend, scoring a perfect hat trick.

The one they call ‘Captain America’ got his first start for Frank Lampard since the start of the season and he grabbed the opportunity with every available limb, scoring a goal with his left foot, right foot, and his head.

His overall play was emphatic and dangerous and he has given his manager another selection headache once again.

There has been a lot said about Pulisic not getting enough game time at Chelsea, with some claims of unfair treatment. This is just ludicrous, even though we all wanted him to be getting more minutes, Lampard maintained that he wanted to see more from him in training.

It appears that Lampard actually handled the situation very well and introduced Pulisic back in gradually, and now both parties are reaping the rewards.

Pulisic has been giving his thoughts, as reported by The Daily Mail.

He said:

“He [Lampard] believes in me and he’s told me that.

“You have to keep working hard in training and earn your spot, that’s how it is at the highest level.

“I’m going to continue to do so. This is hopefully just the start. I didn’t come here expecting everything to be easy and have an easy route and start every game.

“I don’t feel pressure from back home at all. I know who I need to worry about at home and that is my family and my closest friends and those who care about me. And I have their support and that is what matters to me.

“Of course there is a sense of relief — you could see that in my emotions after the first goal. That relief of getting my first goal and being able to help my team at this level. It’s really good for me.”
