Gareth Southgate considering starting in-form Chelsea youngster ahead of club team mate

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount could be handed his first full England cap on Friday as manager Gareth Southgate considers starting him over his club team mate Ross Barkley, according to The Daily Mail.

They claim that Southgate is pondering starting Mount in the number 10 role against Czech Republic on Friday night.

Mount has had an impressive start to the season with Chelsea scoring 4 goals and keeping Barkley out of the team.

Now the 20-year old is hopeful of doing the same at international level.

He is one of the main success stories so far in Frank Lampard’s early Chelsea reign, and is one of the young academy graduates on the lips of supporters and pundits alike as he continues to shine for Lampard.

After Friday, England then face Bulgaria on Monday evening in the second of their Euro 2020 qualifying matches this international break.

Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham will also both be hoping to get involved with some minutes this week.
