The injury to N’Golo Kante meant an almost guaranteed feature for Ross Barkley today, and against the wishes of many fans he did indeed feature.
He lasted 43 minutes, not playing too well in all honesty, before he was forced off with an injury.
Inevitably, some of those rather odd Chelsea fans who want their team to do well took pleasure in the fact that the England international was forced off, to be replaced (inevitably) by Mateo Kovacic. They prefer the contributions that the Croatian can bring to the team, clearly.
We’ll see how he gets on in this second half.
