It’s been a tough season for Christian Pulisic, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get any easier.
The US international signed for Chelsea in January, but didn’t join up with the squad until this summer, which only served to build the hype around him.
Since coming into the club, he’s struggled to break into Frank Lampard’s first team, and in fact as the season has gone on he’s featured less and less. The good form of Willian and the return of Callum Hudson-Odoi isn’t helping.
One would have thought that a break with his national team, where he’s a hero, would be helpful, but actually after being subbed off (apparently ill) for his country last night, he was seen looking pretty emotional on the sidelines.

To make things worse, with their number 10 off the pitch, the US went on to lose the game. Chin up Christian! There are always more chances to turn things round.
