Inter chase Chelsea striker in January sales

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is being eyed by Serie A side Inter who are looking at the French World Cup winner as an option for January, according to Tuttosport as cited by Calciomercato.

Giroud has become out of favour under Frank Lampard for Chelsea so far this season, dropping down the pecking order to third choice behind Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi.

It is expected that if things stay this way then he will pursue a move away in January.

Inter might not be the right move for him though if their is truth in these reports, due to having Romelu Lukaku as their main man up top.

The report states they want an alternative to Lukaku and having tried Edin Dzeko, they are now set to turn to Giroud.

The 33-year old has been in fine form for France in the last couple of international breaks, but as long as Abraham keeps performing for Chelsea, I can’t see his game time increasing too much there.
