N’Golo Kante has not featured for France, and is described as a “last minute” absence by the French national team.
Moussa Sissoko has replaced the Frenchman against Iceland after warmup, indicating an injury for Kante. That’s the last thing we needed, having just got him back fit. We all feared the worst, and while we don’t have more information about how bad this is, it’s the last thing we wanted to hear on a Friday night.
Let’s just pray he felt a tiny twinge and it’s nothing more than that. The team was just getting into a really nice groove, with Kante settling back in.
GFFN report it as a “muscle injury” – it’s not clear if this is related to his previous issues, but whatever it is, it’s a problem for N’Golo, France, Chelsea, Frank Lampard and all of us.
He still has a week before Chelsea’s next game in any case. Get him back to Cobham, wrapped in cotton wool.
