Lampard’s settled team and formation bringing rewards

Frank Lampard has a lot of players at his disposal, including a lot of new arrivals at the club this summer, both signings and returning loan players.

It’s been a hectic few months getting to grips with what he has got to work with, and the different setups he can use them in, but now things are becoming very established.

The last 3 games have seen Frank Lampard pick his  established first team consistently, the only variations being the rotation of Christian Pulisic in for Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Mateo Kovacic playing at the expense of Ross Barkley. Now that the Croatian has made that place his own, we really know Frank’s first team.

Only that left wing slot remains up for grabs, with CHO and Pulisic both looking dangerous when given a chance. Emerson faces a battle to displace Marcos Alonso too, as that particular duel for minutes goes into its third year of action.

The settled team has meant better defensive performances and increasing chemistry. It’s a sign of great things to come.
