Sport Witness have followed the N’Golo Kante to Real Madrid rumours from the start, and today they’ve got a particularly odd installment.
We always hear this kind of thing from Spain, that Kante is being considered as an “alternative to Pogba” as they put it here.
It’s just so odd to English fans, who now have had a few years of watching both players every week. There’s just so little that’s similar in the way they play, the way they look, the way they act off the field.
But in Spain they just seem to see them both as “defensive midfielders” it seems, and see Madrid pushing for our man rather than United’s. Neither of the two is having a memorable season so far, with both suffering injury issues stemming from a busy season last time out.
The report they quote also says that Kante is himself pushing for the move, which is the most unlikely part of all.
