Who Scored player ratings prove poor showing from Chelsea and Man United

When the highest individual player rating is 7.3 in a match, then you know you probably would have enjoyed watching paint dry more than watching the game.

Manchester United beat Chelsea 2-1 in the Carabao Cup last night in a match that produced just 5 shots on target between both sides, 3 of them being goals, 2 of those of which were set plays.

The Blues enjoyed a massive 65% of possession according to the BBC, but only had one shot on target all match other than the goal.

United setup defensively and man marked Chelsea all over the park. If that was there game plan, then fair play, they got the win. But their style of play is something we have grown used to seeing relegation sides play against Chelsea, not a supposed top six.

But Chelsea were equally as bland and could not create anything going forward and had no solution to United’s brick wall.

The ratings say it all from Who Scored.

Rojo and Batshuayi got the highest ratings at 7.3. But apart from that, only 3 other players got a rating above 7 – Jorginho, McTominay, and Williams.
