Tammy Abraham explains how academy linkup helped Callum Hudson-Odoi assist him

Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount were interviewed after Chelsea’s win over Southampton, and there was good reason for that.

The two played vital roles for the Blues as they romped to a 4-1 at St Mary’s. Speaking after the game, it was clear that they are absolutely buzzing and on a high going into the international break.

You can see their interview in the video below (UK only):

If you can’t see that, their quotes are available in text here.

“We had some difficult times in the first half but at half-time we spoke about being strong and we killed the game off,” Mason Mount said of the game.

Tammy’s quotes were more technical, about how he levered his goal over the onrushing keeper:

“They started brightly – it’s never easy coming here but we did well to stop their momentum. I knew Callum was going to play the ball first time. I just tried to get a touch on it to get it over the ‘keeper. It’s been a great week but when you play with such great players, you always get chances.”

It sounds like his knowledge of playing with Callum is already coming in useful. That’s exactly what we love to hear.
