The Daily Telegraph last night published a report about Tammy Abraham, saying that the striker was ready to commit to playing for England despite interest from Nigeria. Hidden lower down in that piece, as they like to do, they included a further snippet.
They said that Fikayo Tomori (another England youth international whom the Super Eagles want to nick off us) has been offered a new contract, one which he is “expected to sign.”
That’s fantastic news for Chelsea, but if we were Fikayo we might consider holding off for a bit. He’s just broken into the first team and is putting in superb showings every time he steps on the pitch.
If he delays signing this deal, he might just add a zero to what he’s being offered, especially if he carried on at this rate.
We’re not bothered. Pay him whatever he likes, as long as he’s tied down for the long term we’re happy.
